Mautic is free open-source software, so you pay no per-contact fee to Mautic itself. The server, the sending service and the domain are paid for separately.

What we need from you
- A VPS with root access (Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04, at least 2 GB of RAM) or a cPanel host that allows cron jobs, bought in your name
- A domain or subdomain for Mautic, and access to its DNS
- Your own SMTP service or Amazon SES account with sending credentials (we help you choose one before you pay for it)
Not included
- The server or hosting fee, domain fee and the email sending fee, billed by those providers to you
- Getting an Amazon SES account out of sandbox mode — that decision is Amazon's and depends on your account

- Writing email copy, designing templates, importing large lists or building more than one campaign — quoted separately

About this service
Mautic is a free marketing automation tool you run yourself, which means no per-contact pricing from Mautic and your contact data stays on your own server. The catch is that it is not a hosted service: it needs a database, a secure web address and, above all, scheduled jobs. If the cron jobs are missing, segments do not update, campaigns do not trigger and queued email never goes out, which is the most common reason a new Mautic install looks broken. We install it the production way, set up and check those jobs, and connect it to your own SMTP service or Amazon SES account so that email actually leaves the server. Then we build one small segment and one campaign and send it to a test list, so that you see the whole path work before you load real contacts. Questions before you buy
Is Mautic really free?
The software is free and open source. You pay for the server or hosting, the domain and whatever sends your email, such as Amazon SES or an SMTP provider. Mautic does not charge per contact.
What do I need before I start?
A VPS or a cPanel host that allows cron jobs, a domain you can edit DNS for, and an SMTP or Amazon SES account. We tell you what to buy before you pay for anything.
Will my emails reach the inbox?
We cannot promise that. Inbox placement depends on your list, your content and your sending reputation. We connect sending and test it, and domain authentication records are a separate service.
Can you get my Amazon SES out of sandbox?
Amazon decides that for each account. We can tell you what to put in the request, but approval is Amazon's choice and is not part of the fixed fee.
Can you move my contacts from another tool?
A small test list is included. Importing large lists or moving data from another platform is quoted separately.
Who owns the server and the data?
You do. The server, domain and sending account are in your name and we only use the access you give us. You can remove our access when the 14 days of fixes are over.
