Aggregators like Shiprocket route every shipment through their own markup and dashboard; a direct integration calls the courier's own AWB-generation and tracking endpoints from your own backend, so there is no per-shipment aggregator cut once the courier relationship is yours. The trade-off is real and we say so upfront: one carrier only, no automatic rate comparison across couriers, and the courier's own onboarding and KYC approval is not ours to guarantee.

- The API key or credentials issued by the courier for that account
- Admin or developer access to the website/app the API is being wired into
- Your existing order or checkout flow, so we know where AWB generation should trigger

About this service
Most Indian stores reach for Shiprocket because it is the fastest way to get moving, and for many that is the right call — it bundles COD reconciliation, a pincode-serviceability widget and rate comparison across several couriers into one dashboard, and we set that up for ₹2,299. A direct courier API is the other path: if you already have a Delhivery, Blue Dart or DTDC account approved and just want your own site calling that courier's AWB and tracking endpoints without an aggregator sitting in between, this wires exactly that in. It is a narrower service on purpose — one courier, no rate-shopping, no COD dashboard — which is also why it costs less. The part that actually blocks most DIY attempts is not the API call itself but getting pincode-level errors, weight mismatches and failed bookings to fail gracefully instead of silently dropping an order, and that is what the testing round at the end is for.

What if my backend has nowhere to receive the tracking webhook?
If there is no backend to receive it yet, building one is quoted separately once we see what exists.
