The short answer
ZoopCoder installs the Moodle learning management system on your own Ubuntu server for a fixed ₹2,299, ready in 2-4 working days. The price covers a Moodle install on a server in your name, your domain with SSL, the data folder kept outside the web root, the scheduled-tasks cron set up, outgoing email, your site name, logo and India time zone, one test course with a test student account, and daily backups with one tested restore. Moodle is free open-source software with no per-student fee, and the Moodle documentation tells you to run its cron every minute, which is the setting most self-installed sites miss. The server and domain are paid for separately.
What you get
- A production install of the current stable Moodle release on your Ubuntu VPS, with the version number written down for you
- Web server, PHP and database (MariaDB or PostgreSQL) set up to the Moodle requirements, with the data folder kept outside the web root
- Your domain or subdomain pointed to it with free SSL that renews itself, and HTTPS enforced
- The Moodle cron set to run every minute, so emails, scheduled tasks and course completion actually run
- Outgoing email configured so enrolment and password-reset emails are delivered, with a test message sent and received
- Site name, logo, colours on the default theme, and India time zone and language set
- Your admin account, one test course and one test student account created to check that enrolling and logging in work
- Up to 2 plugins installed from the official Moodle plugins directory, if you name them
- Daily automatic backups of the database and data folder to a location you choose, and one test restore so you know the backup works
- A short written guide and 14 days of fixes for anything we configured

About this service
Moodle is the open-source learning management system used by schools, colleges and training businesses, and because you host it yourself there is no fee per student or per course. Installing it properly is more than unzipping files: it needs the right PHP settings, a database, a data folder outside the public web root, SSL, outgoing email, and a cron job that runs every minute — without that cron, emails, reminders and course completion tasks quietly stop. We set all of that up on a server in your name, apply your branding, and test a restore from the backup before any real students are enrolled. Filling the site with courses is your content, and live classes and online payments are separate jobs. If you would rather sell courses through a WordPress site, see WordPress Website, and for the server itself see VPS Server Setup.
Questions before you buy
Is Moodle really free?
The Moodle software is free and open source. You pay for the server, the domain and backup storage. Moodle also has paid hosting partners, which this service does not use; here we install it on a server you own.
What server do I need?
An Ubuntu server with root access. We recommend at least 4 GB of RAM, and more for large classes. We tell you which plan to buy before you pay for one.
Will you create my courses?
No. We deliver a working, branded site with a test course to check that it works. Your teaching material and course building stay with you.
Does it include live classes or payments?
No. Live-class tools like BigBlueButton or Zoom, and a payment gateway for selling courses, are quoted separately.
Why does the cron matter so much?
Moodle runs its scheduled tasks — sending emails, forum digests, completion tracking — from a cron job, and its documentation recommends running it every minute. Without it those things silently do not happen, so we set it up and check it.
Who owns the server and the data?
You do. The server and domain are bought in your name and we only use the access you give us. You can remove our access once the 14 days of fixes are over.
