The short answer

ZoopCoder installs Jitsi Meet on your own Ubuntu or Debian VPS for a fixed ₹2,499, ready in 2-3 working days. The price covers the install on a server in your name, your domain with a Let's Encrypt SSL certificate, the firewall ports Jitsi needs, login-only meeting creation so strangers cannot start rooms on your server, up to 10 user accounts, your name and logo on the interface, and a test call between three devices including the Jitsi Meet phone app. By default anyone who can reach a fresh Jitsi server can start a conference on it, which is the first thing we close. The server and domain are paid for separately, and we tell you which server size to buy before you pay for one.

What you get

  • A production install of Jitsi Meet on your Ubuntu 24.04 or newer, or Debian 12 or newer, VPS, with the version number written down for you
  • Your domain or subdomain pointed at it with a free Let's Encrypt SSL certificate that renews itself
  • The firewall opened for exactly the ports Jitsi needs: 80 and 443 over TCP, 10000 over UDP for audio and video, and the TCP fallback for networks that block UDP
  • Login-only meeting creation (Jitsi's secure-domain setup) with up to 10 user accounts, while guests can still join a meeting from its link
  • Your site name, logo and welcome text on the interface, and the default room-name and language set
  • A test call between three devices, including the Jitsi Meet app on an Android or iPhone, and a check that screen sharing works
  • The server settings raised for larger meetings if you tell us your expected size
  • A short written guide on adding users, updating Jitsi and restarting it, and 14 days of fixes for anything we configured

What we need from you

  • An Ubuntu 24.04 or newer, or Debian 12 or newer, VPS with root access, bought in your name — we tell you the size to buy before you pay for one
  • A domain or subdomain you can point at the server
  • The names and emails of the people who should be able to start meetings

Not included

  • The VPS fee and domain fee, billed by those providers to you
  • Meeting recording and live-streaming (Jibri), which usually needs a server of its own — quoted separately
  • Phone dial-in (Jigasi), multi-server scaling and high-availability setups — quoted separately
  • Embedding Jitsi inside your own website or app with custom code — see API Integration
  • A promise of how many people can be on one call, since that depends on your server size, your bandwidth and everyone's own connection
  • Ongoing server updates and monitoring after the 14 days — see Website Maintenance Monthly

About this service

Jitsi Meet is the open-source video-meeting software behind many free "meet" sites. Hosting it yourself means no per-user fee, no meeting time limit set by a vendor and your meetings running on a server you own. The install is quick; what trips people up is everything around it. Jitsi's documentation notes that anyone who can reach a fresh server can start a conference on it, so you need the secure-domain setup before you share the link. Audio and video travel over UDP port 10000, so a firewall that only opens 80 and 443 gives you a page that loads and calls that never connect. SSL has to be valid, or the mobile apps refuse to join. We handle those and test a real call across three devices before handover. For team text chat to sit next to your meetings, see Mattermost or Rocket.Chat Installation, and for a server to host it on, VPS Server Setup.

Questions before you buy

How many people can join one meeting?

It depends on your server size, your bandwidth and how many people have their video on. We cannot honestly promise a number, so we ask your expected meeting size first and tell you which server plan to buy.

Can I record meetings?

Not in this fixed fee. Recording in Jitsi uses a separate component called Jibri, which usually needs a server of its own, so it is quoted separately.

Can strangers start meetings on my server?

Not after our setup. Meeting creation is limited to the user accounts we create, and guests can still join a meeting when someone gives them the link.

Do the phone apps work with my own server?

Yes, the Jitsi Meet app for Android and iPhone can connect to a self-hosted server that has a valid SSL certificate. We test one phone as part of handover.

Can you build it into my website or app?

The fixed fee covers the server only. Embedding it in your site or app is custom work, quoted separately.

Who owns the server?

You do. The VPS and domain are in your name and we only use the access you give us. You can remove our access when the 14 days of fixes are over.
