The short answer
ZoopCoder installs the free open-source osTicket help desk on your own server for a fixed ₹3,399, ready in 1-2 working days. The price covers osTicket with its database on a server in your name, your domain with SSL, one support mailbox connected so customer emails turn into tickets and replies go back out by email, one department, up to 3 help topics, up to 3 agent accounts, your logo and company name on the customer portal, and daily backups with one tested restore. osTicket installs in a browser wizard, but the step after it is where most installs go wrong: removing the setup folder and the write permission on the config file so the help desk is not left open. The server, the domain and the support mailbox are paid for separately.
What you get
- osTicket (current stable release) installed on your Ubuntu VPS with Apache or Nginx, PHP and MySQL or MariaDB, using a PHP version that release supports
- Your domain or subdomain pointed to it with free SSL that renews itself, and HTTPS enforced
- Post-install lock-down: the setup folder removed and write access taken off the config file, firewall on, root login and password login for SSH switched off
- One support mailbox connected for incoming mail, so customer emails become tickets, and outgoing mail configured so replies and notices reach the customer, with a test ticket sent and answered
- One department, up to 3 help topics and up to 3 agent accounts with their own logins
- Your logo and company name on the customer portal and in the email notices
- Daily automatic backups of the database and uploaded attachments to a location you choose, and one test restore
- A short written guide to adding agents and updating osTicket, and 14 days of fixes for anything we configured

About this service
osTicket is a long-running open-source help desk: customers email you or use a web form, every request becomes a numbered ticket, and your team answers from one place instead of a shared inbox where nobody knows who replied. It is free to run on your own server, so there is no per-agent monthly fee. The browser installer is quick, but a working help desk needs more than that: the mailbox has to be fetched on a schedule so new emails become tickets, outgoing mail has to authenticate properly so replies are not marked as spam, and osTicket's own instructions say to delete the setup folder and remove write access from the config file once the install is done. We do all of that, send a test ticket through the whole loop, and prove a backup restores before handover. If you want a live-chat and social inbox rather than an email ticket queue, see Chatwoot Installation, and for the server itself see VPS Server Setup.
Questions before you buy
Is osTicket free?
The open-source edition is free to run on your own server. You pay for the VPS, the domain and the support mailbox. osTicket also sells hosting and support plans, which are not part of this service.
Will customer emails really become tickets?
Yes. We connect your support mailbox so osTicket fetches new mail and turns it into tickets, and we prove it by sending a test email and answering it from an agent account.
Do I need my own server?
Yes. The server is bought in your name and we install on it. We tell you which size to buy before you pay for one. If you only have shared cPanel hosting, message us first and we will tell you honestly whether it can run osTicket.
Can you move my old tickets in?
Not in this service. Moving tickets from another help desk depends on the format and volume, so it is quoted separately.
Can you add more agents or departments?
This service covers one department, up to 3 help topics and up to 3 agents. Adding more later is simple in the admin panel and we show you how in the guide.
Who owns the server and data?
You do. The server, domain and mailbox are in your name and we only use the access you give us. You can remove our access once the 14 days of fixes are over.
