The short answer

ZoopCoder sets up a Prometheus, Grafana and Alertmanager monitoring stack for up to 3 of your Linux servers for a fixed ₹2,199, ready in 1-2 working days. The price covers the stack running in Docker on a server you provide, Node Exporter on each monitored server, up-checks for up to 5 website URLs including SSL expiry, a ready server dashboard plus one custom dashboard of up to 8 panels, up to 5 alert rules sent to email, Slack or Telegram, and Grafana on your domain with SSL. Prometheus keeps data for 15 days by default, and the retention can be raised as far as the disk allows. The server and domain are billed separately.

What you get

  • Prometheus, Grafana and Alertmanager installed with Docker Compose on a server you provide, with data kept on a persistent volume
  • Node Exporter installed on up to 3 Linux servers, with the metrics port opened only to the monitoring server, not to the internet
  • Website and SSL expiry checks for up to 5 URLs using the Blackbox Exporter
  • Grafana on your domain or subdomain with free SSL that renews itself, and the admin password changed from the default
  • The standard Node Exporter Full dashboard imported and checked, plus one custom dashboard of up to 8 panels that you describe to us
  • Up to 5 alert rules from this list or your own: server down, website down, high CPU, low memory, disk nearly full, SSL expiring
  • Alerts delivered to your email, Slack or Telegram, with a test alert fired so you see it arrive
  • Retention set to your disk size, and a backup of the Grafana dashboards and Prometheus config
  • A short written guide to adding another server and 14 days of fixes for anything we configured

What we need from you

  • An Ubuntu or Debian server with root access to run the monitoring stack — 2 GB of RAM is comfortable for 3 servers; it can be one of the servers being monitored
  • SSH access to the other Linux servers you want monitored (up to 3 in total)
  • A domain or subdomain you can point to Grafana, and the Slack, Telegram or email details for alerts
  • The list of website URLs to check (up to 5)

Not included

  • The server fee, domain fee and any Slack or Telegram account, billed by those providers to you
  • More than 3 monitored servers or 5 website URLs — quoted separately, or send us the numbers and we will quote
  • Kubernetes monitoring, Windows servers, log collection (Loki or ELK) and application tracing — quoted separately
  • Adding custom metrics inside your own application code
  • 24x7 watching of the alerts or on-call response — this sets up the monitoring, it does not staff it

About this service

Prometheus collects numbers from your servers every few seconds, Grafana draws them as dashboards, and Alertmanager sends you a message when a number crosses a line, such as a full disk, a stopped server or an SSL certificate about to expire. It is the standard free monitoring stack, and it replaces the situation where you only learn a server is down when a customer tells you. The common mistakes are opening the metrics port of each server to the whole internet, leaving the Grafana admin password at the default, and alert rules that have never been tested so nobody knows whether the message would arrive. We keep the exporter ports private, change the default login, and fire a test alert before handover. This sets up the monitoring; it does not watch it for you, and monitoring of Kubernetes, logs or application internals is quoted separately. For the servers themselves see VPS Server Setup, and if something is already broken see VPS Server Issue Fix.

Questions before you buy

Which servers can it monitor?

Linux servers that you can reach over SSH, up to 3 in this service. Windows servers, Kubernetes clusters and more than 3 servers are quoted separately.

Is it free to run?

Prometheus, Grafana and Alertmanager are free and open source. You pay only for the server that runs them and your domain.

Where will the alerts go?

To your email, a Slack channel or a Telegram chat, as you choose. We fire a test alert so you see it arrive before we finish.

Can it monitor my website being down?

Yes, for up to 5 URLs, including whether the SSL certificate is about to expire. It checks that the page responds; it does not test a full login or checkout flow.

Does this include logs?

No. Collecting and searching logs with Loki or ELK is a separate job and is quoted separately.

Will you watch the alerts for me?

No. We set up and test the monitoring and hand it over; responding to alerts is yours. If you want ongoing help, see Website Maintenance Monthly.
