The short answer
ZoopCoder installs Invoice Ninja or Akaunting, whichever you choose, on your own Ubuntu server for a fixed ₹1,999, ready in 1-2 working days. The price covers the install on a server in your name, your domain with SSL, outgoing email so invoices are sent from your own address, your company profile with logo and currency set to INR, up to 3 tax rates such as GST slabs, one invoice design in your colours, up to 3 user accounts, one online payment gateway where the software supports it, and daily backups with one tested restore. Both tools are open source, but each has paid extras: Akaunting sells paid apps, and removing Invoice Ninja branding from client pages needs a paid white-label licence. The server and domain are billed separately.

- A domain or subdomain you can point to the server, for example billing.yourbusiness.com
- A mailbox or SMTP login for outgoing email
- Your logo, company details, the tax rates you charge, and your own payment gateway account if you want online payment
- Your choice of Invoice Ninja or Akaunting — if you are unsure, tell us what you invoice and we will say which fits

- Paid add-ons: Akaunting paid apps and plans, and the Invoice Ninja white-label licence, which you buy from the vendor

About this service
Invoice Ninja and Akaunting are open-source invoicing and billing tools you can run on your own server, which means no monthly per-user plan and your customer and invoice data stays with you. They suit a freelancer, agency or small shop that wants to send tidy invoices, track what is unpaid and send reminders. Both need more than a one-click install: invoices only go out reliably once outgoing email is set up properly, recurring invoices and reminders only run if the background scheduler is working, and both tools keep their business data in a database that needs a backup you have actually tested. Each also has paid extras, so we tell you which of them you would need before you buy anything. We do not handle GST returns or e-invoicing; the tools produce invoices and your accountant files the returns. Which is better, Invoice Ninja or Akaunting?
Invoice Ninja is built around sending invoices, quotes and payment links. Akaunting leans more towards bookkeeping, with bills and expenses. Tell us what you do and we will say which fits before you pay.
Are they really free?
The open-source editions are free to run on your own server. You pay for the VPS and domain. Akaunting sells paid apps and plans, and removing Invoice Ninja branding from client pages needs its paid white-label licence; those are bought from the vendor and are not part of this service.
Does it handle GST?
You can enter your GST rates and number so they appear on invoices. We do not set up GST filing or e-invoicing, which your accountant or a GST tool handles.
Can you import my old invoices?
Not in this service, because the amount and format of old data varies a lot. It is quoted separately after we see the file.
Do I need my own server?
Yes, bought in your name. We tell you which size to buy before you pay for one.
Who owns the data?
You do. The server and domain are in your name and we only use the access you give us. You can remove our access once the 14 days of fixes are over.
