The short answer
ZoopCoder installs Nextcloud on your own Ubuntu server for a fixed ₹3,499, ready in 2-3 working days. The price covers the Nextcloud install on a server in your name, your domain with SSL, Redis caching, outgoing email, background jobs on a system cron, online document editing with either Collabora or OnlyOffice, up to 5 user accounts, and daily backups with one tested restore. Nextcloud itself is free open-source software, so there is no per-user fee from Nextcloud when you host it yourself. The server, the domain and backup storage are paid for separately, and we tell you which server size to buy before you pay for one.
What you get
- A production install of the current stable Nextcloud release on your Ubuntu VPS, with the version number written down for you
- Your domain or subdomain pointed to it with free SSL that renews itself, and HTTPS enforced
- Redis caching for file locking and speed, plus PHP and database settings tuned for the size of your server
- Background jobs set to run from the system cron, as the Nextcloud admin manual recommends, instead of the slower default
- Outgoing email configured so share links, password resets and notifications are delivered, with a test message sent and received
- Online document editing with either Collabora (Nextcloud Office) or OnlyOffice, your choice, tested by opening and saving a document
- Your admin account, up to 5 user accounts and one shared folder set up, with the desktop and mobile sync apps tested against it
- Daily automatic backups of the database, config and data to a location you choose, and one test restore so you know the backup works
- A short written guide and 14 days of fixes for anything we configured

About this service
Nextcloud is an open-source alternative to Google Drive and Dropbox that runs on a server you control, so your files are not on someone else's platform and there is no monthly fee per user. The install is where most people get stuck: Nextcloud needs a web server, a database, PHP tuned properly, a cache for file locking, a working cron job and valid SSL, and the default settings leave it slow and its admin page full of warnings. We set all of that up on a server in your name, connect an online document editor so people can open and edit files in the browser, and test a restore from the backup before any real files arrive. Moving your old files over is a separate job, since the amount of data varies so much. If you only need a website or app on the same server, see VPS Server Setup, and for a customer inbox instead of file storage see Chatwoot Installation.
Questions before you buy
Is Nextcloud really free?
The self-hosted Nextcloud server is free and open source. You pay for the server, the domain and backup storage. Nextcloud GmbH also sells an Enterprise subscription with support, which this service does not cover.
What server do I need?
An Ubuntu server with root access. We recommend at least 4 GB of RAM, and more if several people will edit documents at the same time. We tell you which plan to buy before you pay for one.
Collabora or OnlyOffice — which should I pick?
Both let people edit documents, spreadsheets and presentations in the browser. We install the one you choose, and we tell you which is the lighter fit for your server size before we start.
Can you move my files from Google Drive or Dropbox?
Not in this fixed fee. Moving existing files depends on how much data there is, so it is quoted separately once we know the size.
Who owns the server and the data?
You do. The server and domain are bought in your name and we only use the access you give us. You can remove our access once the 14 days of fixes are over.
Does this include the mobile and desktop apps?
The official Nextcloud apps are free. We test that they log in and sync against your server, but we do not set them up on every device your team owns.
