How it works
- Tell us the site and the PHP version firstSend the URL and the PHP version before you pay. If the code is far outside the 40-file scope we say so and you pay nothing.
- Pay ₹2,499Secure Razorpay checkout — one order per site.
- Scan, fix, test, switchWe scan and repair on a staging copy, test it on PHP 8, then switch the live site once it passes, confirmed with you on WhatsApp.
The short answer
ZoopCoder upgrades one PHP website or WordPress site, up to 40 custom PHP files, from PHP 5 or 7 to a supported PHP 8 version (8.2, 8.3 or 8.4) for a fixed ₹2,499, delivered in 2-4 working days. PHP 7.4 reached end of life in November 2022 and PHP 8.0 in November 2023, and the usual breakages are code that used functions PHP 8 removed outright — create_function() and each() — or the old curly-brace string offset syntax, which is a parse error and takes the whole page down rather than showing a warning.
What you get
- Your site copied to a staging copy so the live site is never touched while we work
- An automated PHP 8 compatibility scan of your custom code, themes and plugins
- Removed and deprecated functions fixed in up to 40 custom PHP files: create_function, each, curly-brace string offsets, null passed to built-in functions and similar
- Every active plugin and theme checked for PHP 8 support, with a list of any that need replacing
- The site clicked through on the new PHP version: forms, login, checkout or admin pages, with the error log checked afterwards
- The PHP version switched on your hosting once it passes, if you give us panel access, with a rollback note so you can go back in one step
- A short written note on what was changed and what to watch for

What we need from you
- Hosting panel or SSH access, or a ZIP of the site files plus a database export
- The PHP version the site runs on today and the version your host will remove or you want to reach
- Which pages or features matter most, so we test those first
Not included
- Framework major-version upgrades such as Laravel 5 to 11 or CodeIgniter 2 to 4 — quoted separately
- Rewriting the site, redesigning it or adding features
- Paid plugin or theme licences, and replacing an abandoned plugin that has no PHP 8 version — we tell you which ones and quote the swap separately
- More than 40 custom PHP files or more than one site — quoted separately
- Hosting fees. If your host does not offer PHP 8 at all, a hosting move is our Website Migration service
- Fixing bugs that existed before the upgrade — see our Website Bug Fix (₹999)
About this service
A site that has run quietly on PHP 7 for years usually stops in one of two ways: the host announces it is retiring the old version, or an automatic PHP bump on a shared plan turns the homepage into a white page. The cause is nearly always a handful of old calls in a theme, a hand-written plugin or an abandoned extension, not the whole site. We never test on your live site: the files and database are copied, the compatibility scan runs, the fixes are made and clicked through on the copy, and only then is the live PHP version switched, with a one-step way back. If your site is also behaving badly for another reason, our Website Bug Fix handles a single issue for ₹999, and a site that has to move to a different host first is a Website Migration.
Questions before you buy
Which PHP version should I move to?
Pick the newest one your host offers that your plugins support. We usually recommend 8.3 or 8.4 because 8.2 only receives security fixes until the end of 2026. We confirm the best fit after the scan.
Will my WordPress plugins break?
Some may. The scan and click-through tell us which ones, and we list any plugin that has no PHP 8 version so you can decide whether to swap it. Replacing it is quoted separately.
Do you work on the live site?
No. We work on a copy and switch the live PHP version only after the copy passes the click-through. You also get a note on how to switch back.
My site is built on Laravel or CodeIgniter. Is that covered?
Only if the framework version itself already supports PHP 8. Upgrading the framework to a new major version is a bigger job that we quote after seeing the code.
Can you promise zero errors afterwards?
We promise the pages and features you list work on the new PHP version and the error log is clean at handover. Hidden code paths nobody exercised can still surface later, which is what the 15-day support window covers.
I only need WordPress updated, not PHP.
Then this is more than you need. Routine WordPress core, plugin and theme updates are covered by our Website Maintenance plan.
