The short answer
ZoopCoder moves the purchase tracking on one Shopify store from the retired Additional Scripts and order-status script boxes to Customer Events pixels for a fixed ₹1,999, covering up to 3 platforms among GA4, Google Ads and Meta, with a test order proving each fires, in 2-3 working days. Shopify’s developer documentation says script tags on the Thank you and Order status pages were sunset on 28 August 2025 for Plus stores and on 26 August 2026 for all other stores, and a pixel cannot simply be pasted across: Shopify pixels run in a sandbox with no access to the page itself, so each tag has to be rebuilt to listen for Shopify’s checkout_completed event instead of reading the thank-you page.
What you get
- Audit of where your tracking lives today: Additional Scripts, the Thank you and Order status script boxes, theme.liquid, and any pixel apps already installed
- Purchase tracking rebuilt as a custom pixel, or connected through the platform’s own Shopify app where that is the better route, for up to 3 platforms (GA4, Google Ads conversion, Meta)
- Order value, currency and order ID passed correctly, with duplicate-purchase protection so one order is not counted twice
- Old scripts removed only after the new ones are confirmed, so there is no gap and no double counting
- A check of how your cookie or consent banner interacts with the pixels, since Shopify pixels follow the store’s customer privacy settings
- A test order followed through to each platform’s own debug or real-time view, with screenshots
- A short written note listing what was moved, what was dropped because Shopify no longer allows it, and what to watch in the next 7 days

About this service
For years the easy way to track purchases on Shopify was to paste a snippet into the Additional Scripts box in checkout settings, and it kept working because nobody touched it. When Shopify retired those boxes, stores did not get an error — the tags simply stopped firing, and the first sign was a Google Ads or Meta dashboard that suddenly showed no conversions. The replacement is Customer Events, where Shopify pixels run in a sandbox and receive events such as checkout_completed. That sandbox is why a copy-and-paste fix does not work: the old scripts read the order from the thank-you page, while a pixel has to read it from the event, and anything that expected to touch the page directly has to be rebuilt. We also handle the part that surprises people afterwards: Shopify pixels respect your store’s customer privacy settings, so a consent banner that is not connected properly can stop events altogether, and counts after migration can be lower than before. We migrate one platform at a time, keep the old tag running until the new one is seen working, then retire it so orders are not counted twice. For tracking built on a Tag Manager container or server-side tracking, see our Google Ads Conversion Tracking and Server-Side GTM & Stape Setup.
Questions before you buy
How do I know if this affects my store?
If your Google Ads, GA4 or Meta conversions fell to zero or dropped sharply around the time Shopify retired Additional Scripts, or if purchase tracking was ever added by pasting code into checkout settings, the old tags are probably no longer firing. We confirm this in the audit before any work starts.
Can’t I just paste my old code into a custom pixel?
Usually not. Pixels run in a sandbox without access to the page, so code that read the order from the thank-you page needs to be rewritten to use Shopify’s checkout events. Some scripts also depend on things Shopify no longer allows, and we tell you which.
Will my conversion numbers match what I had before?
Not exactly, and nobody can promise they will. Shopify pixels follow the store’s customer privacy settings, so events from visitors who decline tracking are not sent, and Shopify itself says to expect some difference. We make sure every order that is allowed to be tracked is tracked once.
Is a Shopify app better than a custom pixel?
Often yes for Meta and Google, because the platform’s own Shopify app handles consent and events for you. We pick per platform and explain why; a custom pixel is used where no good app exists or you need a specific event.
Do you need to place a real order?
We need one test order to prove the tracking, either a low-value live order that you can refund, or an order using a test setup. We do not touch any customer orders.
What if I use Shopify Plus?
The tracking migration is the same, and we can do it. Checkout UI extensions, Shopify Functions and migrating Shopify Scripts are separate work that we quote separately.
