The price covers the panel install on a clean Ubuntu or Debian server, a firewall that opens only the ports the panel needs, the admin login secured with a strong password and the panel port restricted where your setup allows it, SSL on the panel hostname, one website added with free Let’s Encrypt SSL, and 7 days of fixes. One honest rule shapes the job: these panels install themselves over a bare operating system and are not meant to be added to a server that already runs sites, and HestiaCP’s own guide says it must be installed on a fresh operating system. In November 2024 CyberPanel had critical flaws that were used in a mass ransomware attack on exposed servers, so we install the current release and keep the panel port off the open internet where we can. The server and domain are billed separately.

What we need from you
- A fresh VPS with root access in your name, with only a clean operating system on it. If it already hosts sites we tell you before you pay, because the panel’s installer is not made for that
- A domain or subdomain for the panel and one for the first website, with DNS you can edit, pointed at the server’s IP address
- Your preferred panel, or a line about what you host, for example 3 WordPress sites, so we can recommend one
- A fixed IP address from your side if you want the panel port limited to your own network
Not included
- The server fee, domain fee and backup storage fee, billed by those providers to you
- Paid panels and licences such as cPanel, Plesk, DirectAdmin or LiteSpeed Enterprise, which are bought from their vendors

About this service
A hosting control panel gives you a web page to add websites, databases, SSL and backups on your own VPS, instead of typing commands over SSH. The four free ones people ask for most differ in what they are built around. CyberPanel runs on OpenLiteSpeed and its documentation lists a fresh install on specific Ubuntu or AlmaLinux releases with at least 1 GB of memory. aaPanel lists a minimum of 1 CPU core and 512 MB of memory and recommends a clean operating system with no web server or database already on it. CloudPanel is built around Nginx and asks for an empty server on Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04 or Debian 11 or 12, with the panel on port 8443, and it advises opening that port only to your own IP until the admin user is created. HestiaCP supports Ubuntu 22.04, 24.04 and 26.04 and Debian 12 and 13, needs a fresh operating system, recommends 4 GB of memory for the full stack and uses port 8083. A control panel is also a large target. In November 2024 attackers used critical flaws in older CyberPanel releases to run commands on exposed servers and lock about 22,000 of them with ransomware, and the United States security agency CISA added the main flaw to its list of actively exploited vulnerabilities. That is why we install the current release and close the panel port instead of leaving it open to everyone. Questions before you buy
Which panel should I pick?
CloudPanel and HestiaCP are simple choices for a handful of WordPress or PHP sites. CyberPanel is built around OpenLiteSpeed, and aaPanel suits people who want a wide set of one-click apps. Tell us what you host and we will recommend one before you pay.
Is the panel free?
Yes, the four panels we install have free editions. You pay for the server and domain. We do not install paid panels such as cPanel or Plesk, which need a licence from their vendor.
Can you install it on my server that already has websites?
Usually not safely. These panels install their own web server, database and firewall rules over a clean system, and the installers are not made to share a server with an existing stack. We tell you before you pay, and a clean server with the sites moved across afterwards is the safe route.
Is a control panel safe to expose to the internet?
It needs care. Panels run with high privileges, so we use a strong admin password, a firewall that opens only what is needed, and restrict the panel port to your IP where you have a fixed address. Keep the panel updated after handover, because the 2024 CyberPanel attacks hit servers that had not been patched.
How much memory does my server need?
It depends on the panel. aaPanel lists 512 MB as a minimum, while CyberPanel lists 1 GB and HestiaCP recommends 4 GB for its full stack. A 2 GB server is a comfortable start for a few small sites. We check yours before you pay.
