What we need from you
- An already-provisioned Ubuntu VPS with root/sudo access (DigitalOcean, AWS, Hostinger or similar) — if you do not have one yet, VPS Server Setup (₹3,999) is the prerequisite service
- A subdomain pointed at the VPS, e.g. n8n.yourbusiness.com
- A note if another web server already binds port 80/443 on the same VPS, so we can avoid a conflict

- The VPS itself — its monthly hosting cost is billed to you by your provider, not us
- Building the actual workflows inside n8n — that is the separate Workflow Automation service (₹7,999)
- n8n Cloud's own subscription, if you choose that route instead — this service is only for self-hosted n8n on your own VPS
- Ongoing updates to n8n itself after handover — quoted as a small separate task if you want it kept patched
- Migrating an existing n8n instance's workflows from another host — quoted separately once we see what is involved
About this service
A bare npm install n8n or the default Docker quick-start both leave two problems most people only discover later: the editor sits open on the internet with no login, and n8n's default SQLite storage locks the entire database on every single write — n8n's own docs say this becomes a real bottleneck once you are running more than a workflow or two concurrently, which for a Shopify-order-to-WhatsApp automation firing on every sale is exactly the moment it starts silently dropping executions. We deploy n8n in Docker with PostgreSQL as the backing database from day one, put it behind a reverse proxy with free SSL so the editor is never on plain HTTP, and add login protection so a stray search-engine crawl does not hand your workflows to a stranger. This is the hosting layer only — once n8n is live, our separate Workflow Automation service (₹7,999) is where the actual automations get built.
Questions before you buy
Do I need to already have a VPS?
Yes, this service installs n8n onto a VPS you already own. If you do not have one yet, VPS Server Setup (₹3,999) is the separate prerequisite service that provisions and hardens the server itself.
Why not just use n8n Cloud instead?
n8n Cloud is the zero-setup option but bills you monthly by usage. Self-hosting on your own VPS costs nothing beyond the server itself, which is usually cheaper once you are running more than a few thousand executions a month — the same tradeoff we walk through in our Workflow Automation service.
Will this build my automations too?
No, this is the server setup only: Docker, n8n, the database, SSL and login. Building the actual workflows — forms, Sheets, WhatsApp, CRMs — is the separate Workflow Automation service (₹7,999).
Why PostgreSQL instead of the n8n default?
n8n ships with SQLite by default, which n8n's own documentation says is fine for testing but becomes a bottleneck under real concurrent use because SQLite locks on every write. PostgreSQL handles concurrent workflow runs properly, so we set it up that way from the start.
Is n8n itself free?
Yes, n8n is fair-code licensed and free to self-host with no per-run cost. Our ₹1,499 is only for the setup work — Docker, database, SSL and handover — done correctly once.
