The short answer
ZoopCoder turns one recurring PDF layout into clean Excel or CSV data for a fixed ₹1,499, delivered as a re-runnable Python script tested on your own sample files in 3-5 working days. It handles up to 15 fields per file, including tables, and processes a whole folder in one run. It works on PDFs that contain real selectable text, such as invoices, bank or supplier statements and reports exported from software. PDFs that are scans or photographs have no text to read and need OCR, which is not part of this service.
What you get
- One Python script that reads every PDF in a folder and writes one Excel (.xlsx) or CSV file
- One PDF layout (for example one supplier invoice format or one bank statement format), up to 15 fields per file including one repeating table
- Testing on up to 10 sample PDFs that you send, with the results compared field by field against the originals
- A flag column or log for any file where a field could not be found, so nothing fails silently
- A short README on running it on Windows, Mac or Linux, and the commented source code
- 14 days of fixes if a file in the same layout is read wrongly

What we need from you
- Up to 10 sample PDFs in the layout to be read, with any private details you do not want to share blanked out
- A list of the fields you need and the column names you want in the sheet
- The computer you will run it on (Windows, Mac or Linux), so the guide matches
Not included
- Scanned or photographed PDFs that need OCR, handwriting reading or image clean-up — quoted separately after we look at a sample
- Password-protected PDFs we have not been given the right to open, and any PDF you do not have the right to process
- More than one PDF layout, or varying layouts from many different senders — each extra layout is quoted separately
- Data entry, checking or reconciliation of the extracted numbers by a person
- A web page or app where you upload PDFs — that is a separate build, quoted separately
About this service
Most businesses that receive the same kind of PDF every week, supplier invoices, bank statements, purchase orders or MIS reports, end up retyping the numbers into Excel. When the PDFs come from software and share one layout, a script can read them in seconds and put each field in the right column. The first thing we check is whether your PDF is text-based or a scan: if you can select and copy the words, the text is in the file and extraction is dependable; if it is a photo of a page, there is nothing to read until OCR is run, and OCR is never perfect, so we quote that separately rather than promise it. We test on your real samples and compare each field against the original, because tables that look aligned on screen can be stored in a way that needs careful handling. Anything the script cannot find is flagged in the sheet instead of being guessed. The result is a script you can keep and re-run, not a one-time favour. If the data you need is on a website rather than in a file, see Web Scraping & Data Extraction, and for pushing the finished sheet into a live workflow, Google Sheets Automation.
Questions before you buy
How do I know if my PDF is text-based or scanned?
Open it and try to select a line of text with your mouse and copy it. If you can, it is text-based and this service applies. If the whole page selects as one picture, it is a scan and needs OCR first.
Can it read tables with many rows?
Yes, one repeating table per layout is included, such as the line items of an invoice or the transactions on a statement. Very irregular tables with merged cells may need extra checking, and we tell you after seeing your samples.
What if the sender changes the PDF layout?
The script is written for one layout. If the sender redesigns it, fields may move and a file will be flagged rather than misread. A small adjustment within 14 days of delivery is covered; later changes are quoted on their own.
Is my data safe?
The script runs on your own computer, so your PDFs do not have to be uploaded anywhere after delivery. During testing we ask you to blank out anything private you do not want to share.
Can it send the data straight into Tally, Zoho Books or Google Sheets?
This service ends at a clean Excel or CSV file. Pushing that data into another system is a separate integration, quoted separately.
Do you use AI to read the PDFs?
We use rule-based extraction for consistent layouts because it is repeatable and free to run. An AI model is only worth adding for messy, varying documents, and that would be quoted separately with its usage fees paid by you.
