Not a feature list — a recording of the software running. Five admin screens, from the product master to the day’s sales list, then the honest India price and the shops that should not buy one.
POS billing software makes one action out of four: you pick or scan an item and it prices it, applies that item’s GST rate, prints the invoice and takes the unit out of stock in the same keystroke — so the bill, the tax record and the stock count cannot drift apart, because they are the same entry. The video below is the working admin panel, recorded screen by screen for two minutes and four seconds: five screens — dashboard, product master, suppliers, payments, day’s sells. In India, deployment starts at ₹1,00,000 with maintenance from ₹3,000/month, and a from-scratch custom build of the same scope is a 6–16 week project. Counter hardware is bought separately and is not in that figure. The number that decides whether it pays for itself is not your turnover — it is how many sellable items you carry and how many people bill without you watching. Under roughly 150 items and one biller, a free phone app is the honest answer.

Before you price any POS system, do two counts. First, how many separately sellable items do you carry — not categories, individual items with their own price. Second, how many people put through a bill when you are not standing at the counter. If the answers are under about 150 items and one person, a deployed POS system is more software than your shop needs and a free or low-cost GST billing app on a phone will genuinely do the job. If you carry hundreds of items you can no longer eyeball, or two or more people bill unsupervised, that is the moment the software starts paying for itself — because from then on your stock figure and your day’s cash are either recorded or they are guessed, and there is no third option. This costs an afternoon to check and it is worth more than any vendor’s comparison sheet.
ZoopCoder is paid to deploy these systems, and the rule above tells a good share of readers — single-counter kirana shops, small standalone stores — not to buy one yet. That is deliberate. A shop that installs a POS system before its item count needs one ends up keeping the software half-updated and trusting the shelf, which is worse than either.

This table is not a feature list. It is exactly the five screens the recording above walks through, in the order it walks them, with the thing in your shop that each one is there to replace. If a screen is not in this table, it is not in the video.
| Screen | What it does in the system | What it replaces today |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | The day at a glance — what sold, what came in, what the counter has taken | Adding up the bill book after closing |
| All Product | The item master: every sellable item with its price, tax rate and current stock | The rate list in a notebook, and a stock figure nobody trusts |
| Suppliers | Who you buy from, what came in on which purchase, and what is still owed | A file of purchase bills and a phone call to check a balance |
| Payments | Money in and money out against those bills and sales, in one record | Two diaries — one for customers, one for suppliers |
| All Sell | Every sale that has gone through, per bill, retrievable by date | Digging through carbon copies to find one invoice |
The video is a back-office walkthrough. Barcode billing at the counter, GST invoices and returns, multi-counter cashier logins, stock deducted on every sale and the day-close profit report are all part of the system ZoopCoder deploys and are listed on the video as the features it covers — but the two minutes of recording are the five admin screens above, not the cashier’s till screen and not a GST filing screen. We would rather write that sentence than have you discover it on a demo call. If the counter side is what you need to see before you commit, ask for it on WhatsApp and we will walk it live on a screen share.
These are ZoopCoder’s own published numbers, from the pricing page — not a market survey. Your exact figure comes from a fixed written quote, returned in 24–48 hours.
| Route | What you get | Price | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Deploy & configure the system in this video | Your item master and tax rates loaded, your branding, counters and cashier logins set up, staff trained | From ₹1,00,000 | Weeks, not months |
| Custom build from scratch | Built around a counter workflow no ready system matches — your own pricing rules, your own reports | Custom software, from ₹1,00,000; ERP-scale from ₹3,00,000 | 6–16 weeks |
| Keeping it running | Security updates, backups, bug fixes, support — Basic / Professional / Enterprise | ₹3,000 / ₹8,000 / ₹15,000+ per month | Ongoing |
| Counter hardware | Barcode scanner, thermal printer, cash drawer — bought by you from your own supplier | Not included in the above | Off the shelf |
| Included either way | Full source code and database ownership, documentation, 30 days post-launch support, staff training | ₹0 extra | — |
Payments follow the standard schedule — 30% at kickoff, 40% at the mid-project milestone, 30% on delivery. Build times match the window in our timeline guide, where every three days you take to approve a stage adds roughly a week to the calendar.
Not your turnover. Four things, in this order:
Whatever you are quoted, check it against our list of what a development quote must include and settle code ownership in writing first — see who owns the code.
It makes one action out of four. Pick or scan an item and the software prices it, applies that item’s GST rate, prints the invoice and removes the unit from stock in the same keystroke — so the bill, the tax record and the stock count are the same entry and cannot drift apart. The five admin screens behind the counter are all in the demo above.
Deployment and configuration starts at ₹1,00,000, maintenance runs ₹3,000 / ₹8,000 / ₹15,000+ per month by plan, and a from-scratch custom build of the same scope is 6–16 weeks and priced as custom software. Counter hardware is separate. Counters and branches, offline billing and the accounting link move the number far more than turnover does.
Often not. Count your SKUs and count your billers: under roughly 150 sellable items with one person at the counter, a phone billing app does the job honestly. It becomes worth paying for when you cannot eyeball your stock, when two or more people bill unsupervised, or when your closing cash and your sales record stop agreeing.
GST invoices and returns are part of the system we deploy and are listed as a covered feature on the video — but the two-minute recording walks the admin panel, not a filing screen, and we would rather say so here. Before buying any billing software in India, make the vendor show you three things live: an invoice with correct HSN and GST per line, the GSTR-ready export your CA will open, and whether e-invoicing or e-way bills are included or extra.
Yes — source code, database and project files, with documentation, handed over in the quoted price and no release fee. Get it in writing from any vendor. A POS database is your whole sales history and customer list, so a vendor who keeps the code and hosts it only on their own account is holding the ledger you would need the day you switch.
Yes, but say so before the quote rather than after. Multi-branch means one item master, one stock pool and reports that add up across shops, and that is a different build from one shop with four tills. Retrofitting it in year two costs more than asking for it on day one.
Send us roughly how many items you carry, how many counters and branches you bill from, and which screens from the demo you actually need. We come back with an itemised, fixed-price quote within 24–48 hours — including what we would leave out to bring the number down, and what year one costs to run.
